Manufacturing is an important differential for rating countries on their competitiveness. According to the data published by United Nations Statistics Division, China aces in the manufacturing sector accounting for 28% of the world’s manufacturing, followed by the United States which holds 17% of the world’s manufacturing share amounting to 2.3 Trillion. Japan takes the third spot in manufacturing by capturing 7% of the world output. Germany and South Korea closely follow contributing 6% and 3.5% to the world manufacturing output respectively. In the infographic below we analyze the manufacturing output of the various countries in the world.
