Prasa Infocom & Power Solutions today announced a strategic partnership with ‘The Energy for India,’ Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for designing and commissioning of their next data center.
IOCL needed to upgrade their older data center infrastructure due to a lack of storage capacity and the inability of the older infrastructure to support the needs of their IT department. This data center is to be built and deployed within a period of 18 weeks to IOCL’s oil refinery in Vadodara, Gujarat.
“We’re upgrading IOCL’s old data center which is currently live at one of their sites in Gujarat. We will deploy the new ‘modular data center’ with a shutdown of just 24 hours,” said Jay Burse, Director – Business Development at Prasa. He also added that – “This is definitely a challenging project and it will prove to be highly beneficial for IOCL and their customers. Given that we’re implementing green computing, the data center will also be highly energy efficient.”
This data center will be a combination of 10 racks in total. It is a Tier – III data center, intelligently designed to provide hot aisle containment, in-row precision air cooling, modular UPS with a battery bank, and a rack and room-based monitoring system.
