Prasa is providing essential mission critical services for the data centers at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune and the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Noida during the current national lockdown till 15th April 2020. Some govt. institutions like IITM and NCMRWF that cater to important services are recognized as essential services during this period and Prasa is ensuring that two of the largest data centers for supercomputers are completely functional during these critical times.
These crucial data centers cannot be allowed any downtime. Hence, a team of Operations and Maintenance (O & M) from Prasa is stationed at the NCMRWF data center 24*7; and another team from Prasa has been provided with “Pass for Emergency Duty – Working Under Essential Services” to ensure they can provide uninterrupted services safely at IITM. These teams ensure asset management, quality management, energy management, documentation, and complete uptime in the data center facilities at NCMRWF and IITM. The procedures being carried out include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
